"20 Legendary American Songs", Vol. 1 with bonus CD: "10 Christmas Classics" |
DAVID BALPH BIOGRAPHY
Listen to David Balph and you'll soon discover why he's earned the title from Eagle Records, "America's Most Romantic Trumpet Player." Having the ability to perform many styles of music with equal brilliance and excitements, he is a credit to himself and his peers.
When you hear David perform, with his ability to bend the notes, the feeling he generates in his music is deeply felt by his audiences. David's unique ability to perform ballads with such rich tones, deep emotion and expression, generates well-deserved standing ovations in his personal renditions of timeless classics. In other words, he is a "Trumpeter's Trumpeter."
David's father, who performed in Vaudeville, and older brother, who performed on "The Ed Sullivan Toast of the Town Television Show," provided great inspiration for David, who launched his career at the age of six. After high school, during military service with the United States Army, David graduated from "The Naval School of Music" in Washington, D.C. Following this, he served a stint with the 72nd U.S. Army Band in Los Angeles, California.
David traveled and performed as a soloist in South America, Hawaii and Germany, as a member of the 129th Army National Guard Band,
Nashville, Tennessee. Being activated during the Gulf War, he retired after receiving various medals and commendations, a Staff Sergeant, with 23 years of service. It was an extremely proud moment for David when he was selected to perform for President Ronald Reagan.
After extended travel around the United States, performing in various exclusive supper clubs and theaters, David settled in Nashvile, Tennessee. He performed as soloist and leader of the Dixieland Band at Opryland U.S.A., and on Opryland's General Jackson Showboat.
Having released three successful CD albums, "Inspirational Trumpet," Musical Memories From A Time Gone By," and "20 Legendary American Songs with 10 Christmas Classics," David remembers his father telling him, "Always give a little more to the public than is expected," David continues to do just that!
